We're Sarah & Juan (Suan)!
Wedding and portrait photographers
We grew up in Mount Vernon, WA and although we only lived a few blocks away from each other, it was thanks to a dear mutual friend that we met. It took Juan several dates and attempts at making things serious, but his perseverance eventually paid off and at the tail end of our senior year of high school, we made it official. Fast forward to today and we're married, living in the Greater Seattle Area with our two fur babies, and working together to capture the love stories of others through the art of wedding and portrait photography.
When we're not behind the camera lens or fixing the stray hair, you can find us at the nearby coffee shop, traveling, cheering on Seattle sports teams (go Mariners, Hawks, and Kraken!), watching old episodes of Modern Family (because let's be real, it never gets old!), and spoiling our fur babies, Guapo and Cora (see a cute golden in our pictures? That's our sweet Cora! Guapo proves to be more difficult to photograph).
Our photography journey
Our love of photography began in college. It started out with us just taking "selfies" on our adventures, setting up the tripod, setting the 10 second timer, and racing to get in the frame before the shutter clicked. We quickly learned the art of finding the right exposure, composition, and telling a compelling story through still images. We began taking photos for friends, helping them mark special occasions like graduations, birthdays, and engagements. More people reached out to us as we continued to hone our skills - Juan's the camera whiz and Sarah found that she enjoyed directing the photoshoots and doing post-editing). Since committing more time to Suan Photography, we have had the honor of shooting engagement and senior portraits, a surprise proposal, a baptism, graduations, a quinceanera, and lots of weddings!
